Homeless Family Support
Families are considered homeless if they meet one of the following criterea:

  • Lives in an emergency, domestic abuse or transitional shelter
  • Temporarily living with more than one family in a house, mobile home or apartment (because they do not have a place of their own).
  • Stays in their car, outside or in a public space.
  • The child is emergency foster care awaiting foster care placement
  • The student is not in physical custody of a parent or legal guardian
  • Already working with Title One Homeless staff.

Services families can receive:

  • Transportation
  • Free school meals
  • School supplies
  • Special education assistance
  • referrals to additional resources

Families or students having the need for this support contact your student's counselor and they will fill out the initial application for you. A Homeless liason will then contact the family and/or the student.
