|  |  |  | Homeless Family Support Families are considered homeless if they meet one of the following criterea:
- Lives in an emergency, domestic abuse or transitional shelter
- Temporarily living with more than one family in a house, mobile home or apartment (because they do not have a place of their own).
- Stays in their car, outside or in a public space.
- The child is emergency foster care awaiting foster care placement
- The student is not in physical custody of a parent or legal guardian
- Already working with Title One Homeless staff.
Services families can receive:
- Transportation
- Free school meals
- School supplies
- Special education assistance
- referrals to additional resources
Families or students having the need for this support contact your student's counselor and they will fill out the initial application for you. A Homeless liason will then contact the family and/or the student.
