Reading Strategies in an intensive year-long class that uses research based READ 180. This intervention program is designed to improve the learner's reading comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, and writing skills. READ 180 incorporates computerized instructional software, leveled literature, and direct instruction to meet the individual learning needs of students performing two or more years below grade level. Class sessions are 2 periods in length and include the following on a daily basis: large group lesson, computer instruction, independent reading, and small group instruction.
