Ramsey Jr High Social Workers are the vital link between home, school
and community. We provide ongoing support to students in their
academic and personal growth. We also may provide ongoing or short
term crisis intervention directly to students and their families. We
provide consultation to students, parents, classroom teachers, and
administrators when a student's school progress is being hindered. We
work primarily with students with IEP's (Individualized Education
Plans), but see other students as well. School Social Workers have
expertise in areas such as child development, adolescent mental health
and well-being, chemical health, social skills building, and are
familiar with a range of services in the community. Ramsey Jr. High
Social Workers are members of the Special Education Team, the Student
Assistance and Attendance Team, and work collaboratively with other
staff members such as administrators, guidance and school nurse. We
also may assist in crisis such as homelessness, a death in the family,
threat of self-harm, or suspected maltreatment.
