Students will: 1. Describe and interpret issues, events and perspectives in United States history from early civilization to the present through the use of multicultural resources. 2. Demonstrate an understanding of the influence of ethnicity, tradition, race, gender, and social class on various economic, political decisions throughout United States history. 3. Create, interpret, and use charts, graphs, maps, political cartoons and pictures to obtain and communicate historical information. 4. Describe and evaluate issues in US society in relation to their historical precedence and their effects on the present and future. 5. Identify individuals and multicultural, diverse groups whose efforts, ideas, or inventions have significantly affected the lives of others and evaluate their contributions to our society. 6. Plus completing satisfactorily a MINNESOTA GRADUATION STANDARD through an appropriate PERFORMANCE PACKAGE as adopted by the St. Pau l Schools. (required to pass the class
