| | | Mr. Pankonien | | My name in Ken Pankonien. I have been teaching for fifteen years- the
past five at Ramsey Junior High in special education. Previous to
teaching in St Paul I taught for one year at a setting 4 EBD
facility at Rosemount ISD. Before that I taught high school mathematics
for ten years in Temple, Texas.
I grew up in the Philadelphia area received a psychology degree
at Temple University, relocated to Minnesota to study mathematics
education (among other things) at the University of Minnesota and
Augsburg. After ten years of teaching in Texas I returned to Minnesota
to get a Master's in Special Ed at Bethel College.
The purpose of 3R instruction is to enable students to succeed in
regular education classes. With that end in mind we focus on assisting
with assignment completion and promoting behaviors that help students
stay in the mainstream as much as possible. Any additional time is
spent in mathematics, reading and written language instruction oriented
to state assessments.
