The goal of the art department is to teach students that art is a creative process that takes many forms. Artists work in different ways but follow four major steps when they create art: They develop ideas for art, explore and refine those ideas, use materials and techniques to create the works, and evaluate their work.         It is important to note that throughout all art classes students will gain a vocabulary that fosters visual awareness by using the elements and principals of     art as a foundation for understanding and analyzing art.
