 | | Dad? | Born in 1912 and raised by a troop of Japanese Snow Monkeys in the Amazon Rain Forest, Robert Schlesinger arrived in America aboard a Carnival Cruise ship docked outside of Key West in 1920. Navigating the gulf coast in a raft made out of old milk jugs, Schlesinger found his way to the delta of Mississippi where he gained passage on a paddle boat headed north. Six months later after landing in Minneapolis, Schlesinger enrolled in the University  | | Go Twins! | of Minnesota, taking classes in science, education, and professional mascoting. It is rumored that Schlesinger paid for his schooling as the original mascot of the Minnesota Twins-"Minny the Manatee. (author's note: manatees, once common, have not been spotted in the upper midwest since 1942) Shortly after earning his teaching degree, Schlesinger got a job teaching science at Ramsey Jr. High in St. Paul where he has successfully enriched minds  | | Why isn't Washington smiling on the one dollar bill? . . .too much candy at Valley Forge | for the last 75 years.

Our class is filled with activities, discussion and projects that are meaningful for the students. This semester, students in Life science will explore populations, food webs and energy flow in ecoystems. We will explore the five kingdoms,  | | The real Mr. Schlesinger | plants and animals. Throughout the semester, students will discover the dynamic role that we play in the environment while discussing current issues. Plus will eat candy til' our teeth rot.
